Transgender and gender-diverse people are making difficult decisions about where they can safely live, work, and build community. This community-driven survey seeks to better understand how many people are moving to the Greater Seattle Area, why they are moving, and what resources they need.

By sharing your experience, you help identify service gaps and inform community-led advocacy for better housing, healthcare, and legal support. Our goal is to use community knowledge to build more responsive systems of care.

What to Expect

Using multiple-choice questions, the survey collects anonymous data through questions about your experiences and needs. The time needed to complete the survey varies based on your responses. To ensure accurate findings, please submit only one response, and take your time answering.

You may elect to receive $20 within one month of completion. At the end of the survey, a unique link will take you to a separate page to enter your contact information. Your contact information is never correlated with your survey responses and will be deleted immediately upon payment initiation. Note that payment is limited to the first 1000 respondents.

Your Privacy and Data Security

We recognize the unique threat landscape our community faces. We have partnered with a queer and gender-diverse cybersecurity firm operating within the Seattle area to design, build, and operate the survey platform. We never ask for your name or anything that identifies you, and your answers are fully encrypted so they can only be read on a secure device used strictly for aggregated data analysis. None of your answers can be traced back to you.

Your participation is completely voluntary, and the information you choose to submit will be stored on isolated, dedicated hardware accessible only to authorized community researchers. This data will be permanently destroyed no more than 30 days after survey results are compiled into a publishable form. We have taken extreme measures to ensure your safety and the security of your information.

To further protect your identity, your secure survey responses are collected and maintained separately from any other information we collect, such as through our contact form or payment form.

Potential Risks

Taking part in this study may be emotionally difficult, especially when you think back on times you faced discrimination, struggled, or felt left out. Please remember all questions are optional - you do not have to answer any questions you don't want to, and you can close the survey at any time.
